Swap Guidelines & Rules

Fat Quarter Swap – Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in our Fat Quarter Swap.

UPDATED: DECEMBER 2015

This swap has been created to swap fabrics; build up stash; build friendships; and to have fun!

There are three main rules for this swap:

1. you must let me know when you have actually sent your package;
2. you must let me know when you have received your package;
3. you must be willing to share a photo of what you have received, either in the Private Facebook Group, or on the Blog, or Flickr.
I monitor each month to make sure each month’s swap has been completed; how you choose to let me know you have sent & received is up to you!

Please read the following guidelines:

  • Please use good quality fabric and only send fabric you yourself would be pleased to receive.  Only 100% cotton Fat Quarters will be swapped.  NOTE:  A Fat Quarter measures approximately 18" x 22" (approximately ½ of a ½ yard)
  • The Fat Quarter Swap is only open to Australian residents.
  • Communication is a vital part of our swap – please let your partner know when you have mailed your package and when you have received theirs.  PLEASE NOTE: Repeated failure to respond to Swap Co-Ordinator emails will result in you being removed from the group.
  • Swap partners will be allocated around the end of the month and notified via email.
  • All fat quarters are to reach partners by the 25th of the month.
  • If you find there is a month when something unusual is going on and you will not be able to complete your swap, please let me know as soon as you can, and other arrangements will be made.
  • If you find you are unable to complete your swap after you have been assigned a partner, please let your partner know and see if you can come to some agreement amongst yourselves, or let me know and other arrangements can be made.
  • Make sure that your package is sent out with sufficient postage.
  • All swappers agree to keep all information (mailing address, email addresses, etc) confidential.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please email me!
  • Most importantly - HAVE FUN!!
This is a group blog and you are invited to participate. If you would like to be able to post your own photos here, please send me a request via email once you are ready to upload your first photo and it can be arranged for you to be an author. Or, if you prefer, we have a Facebook Group and a Flickr Group or, feel free to email photos to me and I will happily share them for you.

A little note from personal experience .... please remember it is very hot here in Australia and sending chocolates in the mail can be hazardous both to the waistline and when opening a package containing melted chocolate (I am not saying not to send chocolate, I luuuuv chocolate  ;-)............ but if you do, please place chocolate in a separate zip lock bag  ;-) )
